Welsh actress Catherine Zeta Jones believes that being married to Michael Douglas is a life-long commitment, and that she will never divorce him.
The 37-year-old, who appeared in the ITV programme the Darling Buds of May and is now a Hollywood star, is inspired by her parents' long marriage and wants her union with actor Douglas to have a similar longevity.
OK! magazine reports that she told Harper's Bazaar: "I fell in love with my husband at first sight, and I still feel the same way. At some point, my little babies are going to run out of the nest and I don't want to look at Michael and say, 'Hey, remember us?' I'll never get divorced, never.
"I grew up in a small, strictly Catholic fishing village on the coast of Wales. The people there have a different attitude towards life - people stick together more. It's in the genes. My parents have been married more than 40 years and that's a great blueprint."
And she revealed that the couple, who live in Bermuda with their two children Dylan and Carys, spend lots of quality time together to keep their marriage alive.
"Michael and I work at having time together because you can get consumed. The lights are out, the kids are finally snoring, but so are we. So from time to time we'll drop the kids off with my parents in Wales and go on a boat trip or play golf - just have fun. It's important to spend some time by ourselves."
