Why ladies like 'bad boys'

Finding someone to date after divorce can be tricky, particularly if it has been a long time since you have been an active player in the dating game. And for some people it's easy to be attracted to a man or a woman who isn't necessarily going to be good for you.

However, that doesn't mean to say that dating after divorce is impossible. Although it has transpired that there could be a good reason for women choosing men who aren't that nice - it's because they are so flirty.

According to new research, women will find a horrible a man attractive even if he doesn't have a nice personality if he says bad things with a bit of a twinkle in his eye.

For the study, 27 women were asked to rate men's faces for attractiveness and flirtatiousness, and it was revealed that the flirtier a fella was the more appealing the ladies found him to be.

Psychologist Dr Andrew Clark, who led the study at Bristol University, told New Scientist magazine: "Anti-social men can make up a lot of ground by just being flirtatious.

"We found that the two coincided - the most flirtatious faces were perceived as being the most attractive."

"I don't think women like bastards," he added. "I think antisocial men who behave flirtatiously are either fooling women into thinking they are not so bad, or they're actually demonstrating that they are not so bad."
