Larry Page, co-founder of Google has married his girlfriend Lucy Southworth on a Caribbean island owned by Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson.

The couple exchanged vows on Necker Island on Sunday, December 9th and Branson was the best man.

They were due to get married on Saturday but a tropical storm postponed their ceremony. It is thought that around 600 people were on the guest list, including U2 frontman Bono and US actors Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Branson's island can cost as much as $46,000 to rent for one night. Wedding planners for Page and Southworth's big day are thought to have booked every hotel room on nearby island Virgin Gorda for guests six months in advance.

Page, who is worth an estimated $18.5 billion, made his relationship with PhD student Southworth public in early 2006. His new bride is studying for a doctorate in biomedical informatics at Stanford University. Page also attended Stanford but dropped out in 1998 to pursue the development of Google.
