An online wedding company has revealed what it believes to be the appropriate behaviour, and also the mistakes to avoid, for a guest at a wedding.

Noting that around 132 million people will be wedding guest this summer, WeddingChannel.com has produced a list of the top five dos and don'ts to answer the etiquette questions of those who will be attending a ceremony in the coming months.

Firstly, the firm advises that no assumptions should be made with regards to the bringing along of a partner or children to a wedding, and that they can only attend the ceremony if it specifically says so on the invitation. It is polite to reply as soon as possible to an invite, so that arrangements for the day, such as seating and food, do not have to be sorted out at the last minute.

Thirdly, the editors of WeddingChannel.com suggest that dressing appropriately is important for guests, and that the level of formality should always be taken into consideration. The happy couple's decisions should never be criticised on the day, and they should not be spoken to about them either so as not to offend them.

And lastly, the company says that it is wise to send a gift before the wedding itself, so that the bride and groom do not have to or their families do not have to spend a long time at the end of the day packing all the presents away so that they can take them home.ADNFCR-988-ID-18176656-ADNFCR
