A Swedish couple are threatening to divorce if the authorities won't let them use both their names to name their son.
The couple are disputing a Swedish law which states that only unmarried couples may give their children double-barrelled surnames, while married couples are not allowed to pass down the mother's maiden name.
Now married, Lars Jensen and Lina Wernstrom Jensen want their son Aksel to be called Aksel Wernstrom Jensen, reports The Local.
"I have a friend who was allowed to change from Gustavsson to Cyberfeldt," Lars told the Sydsvenskan newspaper.
"If we'd known about these rules we would have waited before getting married. Getting divorced and remarried is an option," he added.
The couple had a daughter before they married who is allowed to take the name Wernstrom Jensen. Her brother, however, is not allowed to take his mother Lina's name.
