Second marriage made all the better by the first

US actor John Leguizamo believes that his second marriage is so successful as a direct result of the failures of his first.

The Love in the Time of Cholera star has revealed in an interview with the US edition of OK! magazine that the mistakes he made with his first wife Yelba Osorio have helped him to realise what it takes to be a good husband the second time around.

Leguizamo, 43, is married to Justine Maurer and he told the publication that he knows that this martial union is worth looking after.

He said: "Luckily I was married before. You need to experience it first, going, 'Yeah, I need to behave, I need to be true and cool'. You can make all your mistakes in that one; you don't make as many mistakes the second time.

"You luck out in life. You just have to be savvy enough to know that 'Wow, this woman is really special and this is it. I've gotta take care of it'."

The Hollywood star married Justine in 2004. The couple have two children together: eight-year-old daughter Allegra and son Ryder, aged seven.
