Nicholas Sarkozy is an "unloving" husband and father who is "unworthy" of his position as president of France.
That is according to a new book about his former wife Cecilia, which claims that the 50-year-old considers her former spouse to be on the rebound after their divorce last year.
She is thought to have made her comments to the book's author, French journalist Anna Biton, before Mr Sarkozy's relationship with his new girlfriend Carla Bruni became public knowledge.
In the book, Mrs Sarkozy is quoted by Biton as having said that her ex-husband is "a man who loves no-one, not even his children" who is also a "womaniser" and "cheap".
She made an attempt to block the book's publication but was overruled by a judge at the Paris civil court on Friday (January 11th).
The book, entitled Cecilia, went on sale in France last Thursday.
President Sarkozy is now thought to be engaged to former supermodel Bruni.
