Sarkozy to marry again?

French president Nicolas Sarkozy is reportedly planning to marry his Italian girlfriend next month.

The 52-year-old is thought to be set to exchange vows with singer and former model Carla Bruni in February, following speculation in French newspaper the Journal du Dimanche.

According to the publication, Sarkozy gave his partner a diamond engagement ring during a Christmas trip to Egypt and she had presented him with a Swiss watch in return, Reuters reports.

The couple's relationship first became public in December last year when they were spotted enjoying themselves while accompanied by their children at Disneyland Paris.

The Journal du Dimanche reports that they are planning to wed on either February 8th or February 9th, running the frontpage headline 'They are getting married!'

Sarkozy divorced his second wife Cecilia last year, making him the first French president to go through a marital separation while in office. He has a ten-year-old son with Cecilia, and also has two other children from his first marriage.
