Reese and Ryan are divorced

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have had their divorce finalised.

According to court documents, the couple's seven-year marriage is officially over, after filing for divorce in November last year citing irreconcilable differences.

The pair, who met at Reese's 21st birthday party in 1997 and married two years later, have two children, eight-year-old daughter Ava and three-year-old son Deacon.

Since deciding in October 2006 on a legal separation, rumours have been circulating that Witherspoon is enjoying life after the couple's marital separation and dating Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

"Jake and Reese were sitting by the fire all night, talking," a guest of a party for singer Rufus Wainwright in Los Angeles attended by the pair told E!'s Mark Malkin.

"Everyone was talking, laughing and celebrating Rufus, but they were deep, deep in conversation. It was like there was no one else in the world."

Perhaps now the pair can properly enjoy life after divorce?
