Reese and Gyllenhaal spotted canoodling

Things between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal still look like they might be hotting up.

The 31-year-old actress, who filed for divorce from actor Ryan Phillipe in November 2006, has been spotted in the company of her Rendition co-star on several occasions.

The couple have never confirmed a relationship, despite much media speculation. However, they have been spotted getting cosy at a party for musician Rufus Wainwright in Los Angeles.

"Jake and Reese were sitting by the fire all night, talking," a guest told E!'s Mark Malkin.

"Everyone was talking, laughing and celebrating Rufus, but they were deep, deep in conversation. It was like there was no one else in the world."

The celebrations for Wainwright were due to his performance earlier in the evening at the Hollywood Bowl where he put on almost exactly the same show as Judy Garland's 1961 concert at Carnegie Hall.

In October 2006 Witherspoon and Phillippe decided to formally separate after seven years of marriage. Lets hope Reese and Gyllenhaal's growing romance proves to be a prime example of success of a new relationship after divorce.
