Princess Anne and her husband Tim Laurence are having marital problems and could be heading for a divorce, according to media reports.
The couple have reportedly been drifting apart for some time due to their busy schedules, as Anne carries out hundreds of royal engagements every year and Tim has been promoted to Vice Admiral in the navy. Consequently, Anne makes many trips throughout the UK and the world, while Tim spends a lot of time in London for his work at the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall.
A source told the Daily Express: "The truth is that they hardly ever see each other. They've fallen out of love and have put their energy into their work. It's sad but they have drifted apart and the spark has gone."
The Princess Royal, 56, separated from her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, in 1989 and the couple divorced in April 1992. She has two children with her former spouse, 26-year-old Zara and Peter, aged 29. Anne married Tim at a ceremony in Scotland in December 1992, witnessed by just 20 people.
