Officer thought missing wife wanted divorce due to 'hormones'

A former policeman from Illinois whose wife has gone missing has revealed that she regularly asked him for a divorce, but put it down to her menstrual cycle

A former policeman from Illinois whose wife has gone missing has revealed that she regularly asked him for a divorce, but put it down to her menstrual cycle.

Stacey Peterson, 23, was last seen October 28th and her husband Drew is suspected of murdering her.

Speaking to NBC's Today programme, 53-year-old Mr Peterson said that his fourth wife was very depressed following the death of her sister and asked him for a marital separation once a month.

He said: "I'm not trying to be funny, but Stacy would ask me for divorce after her sister died on a regular basis. It was based on her menstrual cycle," the Associated Press reports.

Mr Peterson believes that his spouse has run away with another man. He has two young children aged two and four with Stacey and her family believe that she could never leave them.

His interview came one day after the body of his third wife Kathleen Savio was exhumed so authorities could determine if her death wasn't as accident as previously thought.
