Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson has vowed not to leave her children any money, despite the reservations of her second husband Charles Saatchi.
In an interview with My Weekly magazine, the 42-year-old revealed that she believes a privileged upbringing can be very detrimental as it is important to know the value of money.
Lawson explained that she is not intending to leave anything to her two children: daughter Cosima, 13, and son Bruno, 11, from her first marriage to the late journalist John Diamond.
She said: "To know that I am working and that you have to work in order to earn money. I am determined that my children should have no financial security. It ruins people not having to earn money. I argue with my husband Charles, because he believes that you should be able to leave money to your children. I think we'll have to agree to disagree."
Lawson is also stepmother to her second husband Lord Saatchi's 12-year-old daughter Phoebe.
