Australian Actress Nicole Kidman readily admits that she is a very private person, but in a recent interview she has revealed that despite past problems her relationship with her husband is strong and loving.
Kidman, 40, wed country singer Keith Urban in June 2006 and during the course of their short marriage they have had to contend with Urban's alcohol addiction and his stint in rehab. However, it seems that the old adage that 'whatever doesnt kill you makes you stronger' certainly rings true with this pair.
The 40-year-old explained to Interview magazine: "My husband and I are committed to each other and deeply in love. That's how I would put it. We're working on staying in that place and hopefully we will for the rest of our lives."
She also spoke about how marriage can be very difficult, and that it is something that both partners need to work at to make it successful.
When asked if she is happy with her spouse, Kidman replied: "I don't ever say that. Partly because interviews are done in advance and you never know where something's going. People's lives together are complicated and beautiful and that's what they should stay. They're very quiet. Complicatedly quiet. They don't need to be broadcast."
The Oscar winner was previously married to Tom Cruise, with whom she has two adopted children; daughter Isabella, 15, and 12-year-old son Connor.
