Australian actress Nicole Kidman lost her sense of identity when she was married to Tom Cruise and is much happier in her second marriage to country singer Keith Urban.
The 38-year-old has revealed that because she and Cruise moved around so much during their ten-year marriage she had difficulty feeling settled which had a negative impact on their relationship.
Kidman said that she filled the gaps in her life by throwing herself into work, but now that she has such a strong union with Urban she no longer feels the need to do that.
Speaking to US Today, she said: "Tom and I, we moved and moved and moved. Your sense of where do I come from becomes less and less relevant.
"A lot of my life, particularly when I was working so much, it was about trying to fill in the gaps. Now there's much more reason to exist in the world without my identity needing to be through work.
"I have a new niece, I have a new marriage, we just bought an acreage in Tennessee which were going to build a house on. I'm so happy and I'm just not willing to give up my life with my man anymore. We are inseparable."
Kidman has two adopted children from her relationship with Cruise.
