Best-selling biographer Andrew Morton is set to release a book about Hollywood star Tom Cruise which makes various accusations about the Lions for Lambs star's personal life, including his marriage to Katie Holmes.
The tome, due to be published on January 15th, 2008, will claim that Cruise, 45, is actually gay, that he interviewed a host of women before "choosing" Holmes to be his partner and that he has married "for publicity".
However, Cruise's lawyer has strongly denied the claims, Now magazine reports.
According to the publication, he said: "The assertions about what will be in Mr Morton's book are all false and defamatory of Tom Cruise. The rumours that he is homosexual are completely and unequivocally false.
"He has had no 'sham relationships' and has never married 'for publicity'. Nor did he interview 'a number of actresses to be his girlfriend before choosing Katie'.
"Mimi Rogers (Cruise's first wife) never said Tom 'couldn't' give her children. Nothing truthful that Mr Morton could say would damage Tom and Katie's relationship."
Cruise wed Holmes in 2006. They have a four-year-old daughter together called Suri. He also has two adopted children with his former wife Nicole Kidman.
