An album released by late Motown legend Marvin Gaye which chronicled his painful divorce from Anna Gordy is to be re-issued almost three decades after it was originally released.
The double record, entitled Here, My Dear, first hit the shops in 1978 at the height of disco and was criticised for having lyrics that were too personal and for having a sound that was not commercial enough.
Gaye was married to Gordy, sister of Motown Records boss Berry Gordy Jr, from 1964 to 1977. During their divorce hearing in 1976 he was ordered to give half of the proceedings of his next album to his ex-wife and as such its title is often considered to be very sarcastic.
Tracks on the album include a cover of Ain't It Funny (How Things Turn Around), Anger, When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You, You Can Leave But It's Going To Cost You and Time to Get It Together.
The album is going to be re-released on January 14th, 2008.
Gaye, who did in April 1884 after being shot by his father, had two children with Gordy.
