Marie Osmond interview about divorce by son

Country singer and TV presenter Marie Osmond is part of one of the most well known families in showbusiness but the mother of eight is not normally joined in the spotlight by her children.

However, Osmond has now been interviewed for a US TV show by her son and the tone of the conversation was rather personal.

Steve Osmond conducted his one-on-one interview with his mother after one of her Christmas shows for US entertainment news programme Extra and made a point of asking her about her second husband Brian Blosil.

He questioned his mother about her happiness, before going on to ask her about her divorce.

The Paper Roses singer replied: "I don't believe divorce is the solution for an unhappy marriage, but I do think sometimes it's the answer.

"When asked questions like, 'Am I being the best person I can be? Am I being the best mother I can be?' And in those situations, I think it's the right choice if that answers your question."

Osmond married to Blosil in 1986. They had two biological children and adopted four children, but announced that they were divorcing in March this year. She also has two children from her first marriage to Stephen Craig.
