Man sentenced for sending cow's head to love rival

A man from the US whose wife cheated on him has been found guilty of sending the severed head of a cow to her lover

A man from the US whose wife cheated on him has been found guilty of sending the severed head of a cow to her lover.

Jason Michael Fife was so despondent after discovering that his spouse had been having an affair that he obtained a cow's head from his local butcher and posted it to the man she'd been having an affair with on June 1st, 2006.

A court heard that Philadelphia resident Mr Fife had also responded to his wife's infidelity within marriage by sending her lover threatening letters and images.

On Friday (January 4th) the 31-year-old was sentenced to a first-time offenders programme which will see him partake in 50 hours of community service.

His defence lawyer, Henry Hilles, said that Mr Fife "understands that in a civilized society a person cannot send a severed cow's head to anybody".

Mr Fife has since reconciled with his wife, with whom he has a young child.
