A man from Staffordshire suspected of killing his wife the day before he was due to pay her a divorce settlement has been arrested.
Diane Ingram was found dead at her flat in Cannock, Staffordshire, on March 13th after suffering a stab wound to the neck. Her estranged husband Harold Ingram, known as Jim, was due to pay Mrs Ingram over £100,000 the following day and he has been missing for three months following the discover of his former wife's body.
However, the 62-year-old former miner was arrested in Derby city centre yesterday (June 5th) on suspicion of her murder after he was twice spotted on CCTV. A spokesman for Staffordshire police did not confirm the name of the man held in custody for questioning, but did reveal that they were no longer looking for Mr Ingram.
They said: "A 62-year-old man from Cannock has been arrested in Derby city centre shortly after 11am today and is currently in custody at St Mary's Wharf police station in Derby.
"He will be transferred to a police station in Staffordshire this afternoon, where he will be interviewed by detectives."
