Sir Paul McCartney is ready to offer his estranged wife Heather Mills an out of court divorce settlement in a bid to stop her talking about their failed marriage, according to media reports.
The legendary musician is said to have come to the decision to offer Mills a substantial sum of money after learning that she is planning to represent herself in their high court hearing scheduled to take place next month.
McCartney is said to be anxious to prevent Mills, 40, from revealing intimate details about their relationship as he is worried about the effect this could have on their four-year-old daughter Beatrice, the Daily Mail reports.
McCartney's legal team is thought to have contacted the former model and told her: "Paul is ready to talk."
The source added: "Paul and Heather have spoken three or four times in recent days over the phone. It seems that the mood has definitely changed and they are both now ready to resolve things sensibly."
The couple separated in 2006 after four years of marriage due to "irreconcilable differences".
