Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney performed his first gig since going through divorce "hell" to a crowd of adoring fans at an intimate gig in London last night (Thursday).

The 65-year-old wowed the audience of just 3,000 people at Camden's Roundhouse for the one-off concert which took place as part of the BBC Electric Proms.

He took to the stage exactly two weeks after he appeared in court for a mammoth eight-hour session with estranged wife heather Mills to try and thrash out a divorce settlement. It is thought that the couple came to an impasse (were unable to reach an agreement) during the proceedings.

As well as belting out classic Beatles hits such as The Long and Winding Road, Eleanor Rigby, Magical Mystery Tour and Follow The Sun, McCartney included a number of solo hits as well as songs from his Wings days.

His daughters, fashion designer Stella and photographer Mary, were among those who turned out for the gig.

In a recent interview with the Radio Times, Macca described divorce as "a very painful thing" and like "going through hell" but that he is using music as a form of therapy.
