Sir Paul McCartney has reportedly reduced the amount of money he is offering estranged wife Heather Mills as part of their divorce by several million pounds.
It was thought that the former Beatle had originally wanted to give the model-turned-activist a financial settlement of £50 million but now it seems that the figure has been reduced to a much smaller £7 million.
According to the News of the World, the bitter marital separation battle between the former partners has gone from bad to worse following Mills' flurry of public outbursts in which she has criticised her soon-to-be ex-spouse.
The 39-year-old has claimed that the press are treating her the same way as Princess Diana, and has also said that she has recorded conversations between herself and Macca, 65, which show him in a very bad light.
A source told the paper: "The war between them has just gone to a new level. Paul knows she will go all out to damage his reputation."
The couple split in May last year due "irreconcilable differences". They have a four-year-old daughter called Beatrice.
