Sir Paul McCartney and his estranged wife Heather Mills are to attend a court hearing to discuss the financial settlement of their divorce, media reports suggest.
The couple married in 2002 and have a three-year-old daughter together, called Beatrice. However, they filed for divorce in 2006 after "irreconcilable differences" effectively ended their relationship.
It is thought that Macca, 65, and Mills will appear before a court later this week, either on Wednesday or Thursday (October 10th or 11th), in which they will try and work out financial maintenance after divorce. Former model Mills is expected to receive a lump sum in the region of £30 million, as well as annual payments for Beatrice.
The Beatles legend could well pay out a much larger sum to avoid a public hearing in which allegations of unpleasantness would be aired. However, according to the Times there should be no need for the case to go to such a hearing.
A source told the paper: "This case ought to settle. It is absolutely straightforward."
Singer songwriter McCartney is said to have a personal fortune of around £800 million. Earlier this week he was named Q Icon at the Q Awards.
