Learner driver has lesson on way to her wedding

A woman who wanted to arrive in an unusual way at her wedding decided to drive herself there, under the supervision of her driving instructor.

Leann Taylor, 29, has been learning to drive since August 2006, and felt confident enough to make the journey from her home in Tremorfa to the registry office in Cardiff city centre, the BBC reports.

She commented: "I didn't want a limo or horses. I've always been a little bit different, so because I'm learning to drive I thought it would be a good idea to drive there myself.

"My husband knew I was going to come up with something, so when I told him he just laughed and said he didn't mind."

Richard Morgan, Mrs Taylor's driving instructor, said that he thought his pupil's request was a little out of the ordinary but was happy to oblige.

"She normally has her lessons on a Saturday morning so I didn't mind," he said.

The thoughtful instructor wore a suit and decorated his car in ribbons for the lesson on April 7th 2007. After the ceremony Mrs Taylor drove her new husband, Roy, to St Phillip's Church in Tremorfa for their marriage blessing.
