The head of the Paris bar has voiced his concerns over a private website which offers married couples a speedy divorce for a minimal fee.
Divorce.fr grants marital separations for a fixed price of 1,990 (£1,362) to couples who have to submit information to the site and who will only see a lawyer on the official day of their divorce.
However, Yves Repiquet has called on French lawyers to not collaborate with the site because the process is so unfriendly.
He told Le Parisien newspaper: "Couples are not goods to be disassembled. A relationship of trust must be established (between the lawyer and his clients). If divorce was a mere formality, why even pay £1,000?" the Daily Telegraph reports.
The Paris bar sent a letter to thirteen lawyers in the city and they are thought to have now promised to stop associating with the site, which reportedly receives 30,000 visits a day, although 80 other lawyers from around the country are still linked to it.
Thomas Journel, the site's founder, remained positive about divorce.fr.
He said: "We are the first in France to do this and they are trying to break us. We are offering something unique and want to cohabit with the bar."
