When people with children enter into a second marriage it can be a difficult adjustment for everyone. But not so Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes, it has transpired.
Holmes has revealed in an interview with US magazine Parade that she enjoys a very close relationship with her husband's adopted children form his first marriage to Nicole Kidman.
The 29-year-old actress explained that she has a lot of respect for the youngsters and that there is an awful lot of mutual affection between them.
She described Isabella, 14, and 12-year-old Connor as "incredible, really smart and kind" and added that they "call me mom".
Holmes also spoke about how excited she is about spending the festive season together with her family, which also includes Suri, the one-year-old daughter she has with Cruise.
"Last year was Suri's first Christmas. It was so spectacular to share the holidays with her. It really meant the world to me. To be able to create a tradition for your children is one of the best gifts you can have."
Former Dawson's Creek star Holmes also expressed her love for her spouse and described him as a "great father and husband".
