It's a short sharp marriage for Big Brother contestants

After being married for just 15 months, Celebrity Big Brother 'stars' Chantelle Houghton and Samuel Preston have officially divorced.

The couple met on the reality TV series in January 2006 and their romance quickly turned into an engagement in April of that year. They married in August, selling the rights to the photos of their big day to OK! magazine for a reported sum of £300,000.

Preston, lead singer with the band The Ordinary Boys, enjoyed a much-needed career boost as a result of his relationship with former promotions girl Houghton. However, their relationship quickly deteriorated and in June 2007 they announced their split.

Judge Alistair Bassett Cross granted Houghton, 24, a decree nisi yesterday (Wednesday, November 21st) due to the unreasonable behaviour of her estranged husband. He did not contest her petition.

Their divorce went through with 29 other cases at First Avenue House in London. Neither Houghton or 25-year-old Preston were present for the hearing.
