Life after divorce can be difficult, especial with all the personal and financial adjustments that you have to make.
However, there are ways in which the whole process can be made easier and for one divorcee this involved making her house feel like her home.
Top city lawyer-turned interior designer Nia Morris had a journey of exploration after she went thorough a marital separation and did so by decorating her new house. She calls her pad her "base for a completely different life" and it has helped her to discover her true sense of style.
Following her messy divorce she has used fixtures and fittings to maintain a positive frame of mind.
Speaking to the Times, she said: "If I come home and the house is untidy, it affects my mood. I think it's essential to maintain a sense of calm at home. Sure, I recognise that it's superficial. Looking back at my life, maybe I should have spent less time buying flowers and lighting candles and more time reading philosophy. But for me and many women, I think, this is essential."
