I am not an abuser says husband of televangelist

An American televangelist's claims that her estranged husband abused her have been refuted by her spouse

An American televangelist's claims that her estranged husband abused her have been refuted by her spouse.

Juanita Bynum has alleged in her divorce petition that she has been separated from Thomas W Weeks III since June of this year and that he subjected her to "cruel treatment" meaning that their marriage is now "irretrievably broken".

Mr Weeks has since filed his own divorce petition in which he admits to most of her assertions but denies that they have not being a couple since June. He claims that they spent one night together on August 21st, leading him to think that there might be a chance of saving their relationship, reports the Associated Press.

However, Ms Bynum has said that on August 22nd, her husband beat her. She told police officers that he "choked her, pushed her down, kicked and stomped her ... until a bellman pulled him off of her".

The couple wed in July 2002 in what was a million-dollar, televised ceremony. They have written a book together, entitled Teach Me How to Love: The Beginnings.
