A man who divorced his wife after 20 years of marriage appealed to contest a judge's ruling that he should give his former spouse a sizable portion of his future earnings - and was told he couldn't.
When Nick Nenadich split from his wife Linda in 2004, he agreed that their assets should be split equally, the Hereford Times reports.
However, he was not happy that his share of his children's home business was estimated at £3 million, or that he would have to pay Mrs Nenadich a percentage of his future earnings.
Nonetheless, the former magistrate from Hereford was ordered to give his ex-wife a lump sum of £800,000 by 2012, and £1,300 a month maintenance until then.
She also received their £625,000 home, which she has since sold, as well as her estranged husband's pension find and savings.
As such, he deemed the lump sum to be "unfair" but his protest was to no avail, as he lost his case at the appeal court last week.
