A US author has appeared on a radio show in the States and revealed what she believes are the top signs that a divorced person is not ready to re-marry.
ReMarriageSuccess.com relationship coach Alyssa Johnson was interviewed by Jeff Herring on his show Relationships, for Atlanta-based station Radio Sandy Springs 1620, and he has reproduced her list in an article for Quad-Cities Online.com.
Ms Johnson is the author of The 7 Questions To Ask Before Saying I Do Again and her list of reasons for a divorced person to not get married includes emotional, situational and legal issues.
She suggests that anyone who is in the final stages of a divorce should not contemplate re-marrying because "emotional and legal entanglements with a former spouse" will make commitment to a new partner difficult.
Moreover, she suggests anyone with a reluctance to introduce their children to a potential spouse should not be planning a wedding because you are not ready to create a family which includes both your kids and your new partner.
And the most pertinent reason for not re-marrying, according to Ms Johnson, is ill feelings towards your former husband or wife, because "if you are still this angry about your previous marriage, you are clearly not ready for the next one".
