Hillary Clinton believes she made the right decision when she chose to stand by husband Bill following revelations about his infidelity within marriage.
The 59-year-old has revealed that after it came to light in 1998 that her spouse had been somewhat promiscuous with White House intern Monica Lewinsky - which subsequently led to his impeachment - she knew she would be doing the right thing if she chose to work on their relationship.
Clinton believes that while her marriage has faced its "challenges" she would have been wrong to walk away from it.
She told Essence magazine: "Now obviously we've had challenges as everybody in the world knows. But I never doubted that it was a marriage worth investing in even in the midst of those challenges, and I'm really happy that I made that decision."
The Junior Senator also spoke of how her husband is very loving, and how he brings her presents when he has been away.
"Oh he's so romantic," she said. "He's always bringing me back things from his trips."
Clinton is currently campaigning to become the Democratic candidate for the 2008 presidential election.
