Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President, has recently gotten divorced from his wife of 11 years and now his mother has voiced her concerns about him ever getting married again.
In an interview with Point de Vue magazine, Andree Sarkozy said that she believes her son will have no trouble finding a new partner following his marital separation in October, six months after he was elected, but was adamant that she has "had enough of brides".
She said: "You know, in his post, he can only have the difficulty of choosing. But I hope that no one will get married again. I've had enough of brides."
The 80-year-old described her former daughter in law as "cold" but admitted that she had always been pleasant to her and that they had "a good relationship without being close.
Sarkozy and his former wife have a young son together and each of them also have two children from previous marriages.
