Donald Trump's ex denies being dumped

The former wife of Donald Trump has refuted rumours that her divorce was very much dictated by the real estate tycoon.

Speaking to chat show host Larry King, former model Marla Maples said that the marriage had come to a natural end as a result of irreconcilable lifestyle differences.

"Every time I hear dumped I laugh, because I was in a relationship with him for close to ten years and the lifestyle was just too hard for me, to be very honest with you.

"I wanted a very different life to raise my daughter in. And I had to move on. I had to move on and create a space that wasn't in the centre of the world and the tabloid world."

Trump is currently married to Melania Knauss, who is 24 years his junior, and he also spent 15 years married to Ivana Trump.

Maples claims she is not bitter about her divorce from the Apprentice star and she has also reiterated her continued affection for the billionaire.

"I will always love Donald. You just don't go through life with someone. I spent a third of my life with this man," she said.
