The first television adverts to promote a divorce service will be aired in the UK later this month.
They will detail the services offered by Swindon-based company Divorce-Online, which allow couples to legally divorce for just £65 (excluding VAT) in as little as 12 weeks, the Daily Mail reports.
Divorce-Online made the decision to use television advertising to gain a wider customer base, after it noted that the majority of clients who responded to online advertising were from large cities.
Mark Keenan, the founder of the firm, does not believe that the adverts will encourage people to divorce, or that it is profiting from people's unhappiness, saying "we're doing the opposite".
"We do a good, professional job for people and provide an alternative to high street solicitors, and we just charge a tenth of the price," he added.
"The number of marriage breakdowns is sad but these are already happening. We just help people keep more of their money to benefit themselves and their children."
Mr Keenan noted that demand for his company's low-cost service had increased by 36 per cent this year.
