The former divorce lawyers of Princess Diana have claimed that she lived in fear of a plot to kill her.
Maggie Rae and Sandra Davis made the revelation while testifying during the inquest into Diana's death.
Ms Rae and Ms Davis were both working for law firm Mishcon de Reya at the time that it was representing the princess and were present during a meeting in October 1995 where she voiced her concerns. According to the solicitors, she had spoken to them about how "they" wanted to harm her, but did not disclose who "they" were.
Diana's comments were written down by Lord Mishcon, head of the firm, and passed onto Scotland Yard after her death in August 1997. This information was not passed onto the investigation in Paris, and only came to light six years later.
In addition, Ms Rae noted that following her divorce from Prince Charles, Diana had led a rather lonely life.
"I thought she lived in a very odd environment. I thought that she was quite lonely. I remember one occasion she told me about her weekend. She had been alone in those rather silent apartments heating her own food in a microwave."
