An Irish dating website has launched a new system to match people up by way of scientific personality tests.
Online members of parship.ie will soon be able to fill in a questionnaire with 83 steps which examines a person's lifestyle habits and attitudes with the aim of creating couples that are as compatible as possible, the Irish Examiner reports.
"On most dating sites, people use a six-year-old photo and a glib description of being fun and attractive. This provides little or no insight as to what the real person is like," commented the site's director Tony Blin-Stoyle.
Dating and relationship expert, Dr Victoria Lukats added:"The test evaluates the characteristics, values and interests which determine the dynamics of a relationship.
"When an individual is matched with someone who has the right balance of similar and complementary characteristics, the outcome is more likely to lead to a lasting relationship."
The patented psychometric compatibility test for matching couples was created by German psychologist Prof Hugo Schmale and a team of scientists and psychologists from Hamburg University.
