A unique proposal of marriage was provided through a crossword clue for 111 across, it has emerged.
Aric Egmont, 24, is reported to have contacted the Boston Globe Sunday magazine as part of a plan to issue a proposal of marriage to his girlfriend Jennie Bass.
A Fidelity Investments communications department manager, Mr Egmont had regularly completed the crossword puzzle with his partner each week since the early stages of their relationship.
After contacting the magazine to formulate the crossword entitled Generic Proposal, the puzzle included both the couples' surnames and family names before the 14 word clue for 111 across read: "Generic proposal (Jen + Aric = generic)."
Mr Egmont told the newspaper that he was nervous and struggled to sleep during the Saturday night before the couple encountered the Will you marry me? clue.
Describing their completion of the puzzle, he added: "I said, 'will you marry me, Jenny?' I got up, got the ring and got down on one knee and she screamed and hugged me'."
Nik Morgan, a 26-year-old Morgan Wrecker worker, who met his partner Stephanie Jones at the site of car crash wreck on Shawnee Bypass, recently instigated a proposal of marriage by having a road sign placed in the grass where they met with the question inscribed, muskogeephoenie.com reports.
