A couple who divorced because of the strain of caring for their disable daughter have re-married - because she brought them back together.
Stephen and Becky Mussett first tied the knot in 1998 but they filed for divorce a year later after the strain of providing round-the-clock care for their baby girl Georgia took its toll on their relationship.
However, the couple, of Washington, Tyne and Wear, continued to see each other as Mr Mussett visited Georgia, and they found themselves becoming close again, the Sunday Sun reports.
They rekindled their relationship two years after their divorce, and were re-married in Sunderland registry office, where they had exchanged vows for their first marriage.
Mrs Mussett told the paper: "Georgia has split us up and brought us back together. We've been through hell. It's been a nightmare . . . an absolute nightmare.
"But I think we have a stronger relationship because of everything we've been through.
"We get on really well now. We never argue. This has brought us closer together and we'll be together for the rest of our lives."
Georgia, now aged nine, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was six months old and is unable to walk or talk and cannot feed or wash herself. The couple are considering legal action against the hospital where she was born in the hope of winning enough compensation to pay for a lifetime's worth of care for their daughter.
