A woman from Romania sat her exam to become a firefighter while wearing her wedding dress.
Alina Modoran was due to take the test on the same day that she had booked her wedding, and as she was unable to reschedule either she decided that the best course of action would be to go through with both.
She did not have to wear her gown to sit the examination, but she felt that it would be unlucky if she did not.
Ms Modoran went to the fire service headquarters directly from the church, accompanied by her groom Ion Ovidiu Modoran and his best man, saying that the wedding could continue after the exam, ananova.com reports.
The 25-year-old said: "We just couldn't postpone the wedding as we fixed the date a year in advance. So I came in my wedding dress because the priest told me not to take it off all day because it brings bad luck."
Ion Vintila, head of the local firefighters unit, was surprised to see her arrive wearing the gown and initially thought that she would not be able to take the exam because she was inappropriately dressed.
However, he checked the legislation and found that no rules were being broken.
"The legislation says all candidates should wear a decent outfit at the exam and I thought her dress was not in contradiction with this," he said.
