Bin Laden son divorces British woman

The son of Osama bin Laden is to divorce his British wife just five months after the couple were married.

Omar bin Laden has reportedly been receiving death threats as a result of the union so the couple have decided to part.

"People are opposed to my marriage because I am British," Jane Felix-Browne told the Sun. "I wasn't prepared to see the man I love die."

The 51-year-old tied the knot with scrap metal dealer Omar back in July but it seems the groom's family was not happy with the match.

"They fear embarrassment and complications not just in their own country, but also in Britain and America," Ms Felix-Browne said.

She has been married five times previously and has three grown-up children, while Mr bin Laden has another wife and two-year-old child. He claims he has not seen his father for several years.

He told the Sun: "I don't want a divorce but there are serious reasons for this break-up that I can't talk about."
