US actress Anne Heche and her estranged husband are to share the proceeds of their marital home.
A court ruling on Tuesday (January 28th) declared that Heche, 38, and her soon-to-be ex-husband Coleman Laffoon will each receive $240,000 (£120,000) from the sale of the property. The money is intended for the legal fees of the divorce, as well as other expenses.
Superior Court judge Gail Ruderman Feuer also said that Mr Laffoon could use the money to cover the cost of his rent, the Associated Press reports.
Mr Laffoon filed for divorce on February 2nd, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple have a five-year-old son together called Homer and the 32-year-old is seeking $22,000 (£11,000) a month in spousal support.
Heche's attorney Daniel J Jaffe said that the decision regarding the house was pleasing for Heche, whose earnings have been affected by the writer's strike currently taking place in the US.
Six Days and Seven Nights star Heche married Laffoon on September 1st, 2001.
