A certain amount of order and cleanliness in your home and garden (if you have one) should be your goal if your life after divorce has descended into chaos and squalor.

If you thought that coke was just the stuff your children guzzled, how wrong you were. Learn some new tricks in your life after divorce but don't get the bottles muddled up and give the kids bleach to drink.

If you have moved home since your divorce you will need to do some work to turn it from somewhere to eat and sleep into a comfortable and welcoming place for you, your family and friends.

An organised environment is a good starting point for you to forget what as gone before and to get on with the adventure that is the rest of your life after divorce without the spectre of a disapproving spouse looming over you.

Getting divorced means that you will almost certainly have to replace a substantial amount of your household goods due to the division of spoils with your former partner in marriage.

Buying a more energy efficient fridge or washing machine is unlikely to save the planet from meltdown but as a well known supermarket would say, every little helps.

You would have to be a saint, a masochist or an accountant to enjoy the tedious routine of keeping up to date with all the things that have to be paid and kept in order.
